Hall of Honor
CPRS District II is establishing the Hall-of-Honor Committee for the purpose of recognizing, documenting and promoting significant Park, Recreation and Leisure historical contributions within District II.
Objectives
- Act as a conduit and incubator for future state-wide CPRS District’s Hall-of-Honor projects
- Capture landmark events and acknowledge those who have been pioneers in our history
- Collaborate in the writing of a California History of Park and Recreation Text Book
Committee
- The Hall of Honor Committee will include, but not limited to, representatives from the Hall of Honor Steering
- Committee, a member of the CPRS District II Board, and Educator Representative, the CPRS Park and Recreation
- Foundation Chair (or designee), representatives from CPRS District II and from outside the organization
- Priorities of the committee will be identification and documentation of significant contributions, designing methods for recognition and awards, maintaining funding sources, promoting contributions, and publishing for the textbook

Professional Category
Criteria for Eligibility
- Geographic Area CPRS District II Boundaries
- Individuals who exemplify the principles, values and high moral character of the Recreation, Park and Leisure profession
- Practitioners in Recreation, Park and Leisure Services, including public sector, private, commercial, non-profit, education
- Retired from full-time employment for Practitioners, 20 years in or associated with profession with at least 10 years with District II
- Significant contribution in any or all of the following: 1) Professional training, education and improvement, 2) Specific project and/or programs that the candidate is personally responsible for accomplishing, 3) Leadership positions held, 4) Service to public outside primary responsibility, 5) Awards and Honors, 6) Professional publication.

Criteria for Eligibility
- Geographic Area CPRS District II Boundaries
- Individuals who have made significant leadership contributions toward the formation of historical benchmark projects or events within CPRS District II. These projects/events must be century significant in effecting the leisure lifestyles of the region
- Candiates can be CPRS District II members, board members, volunteers and private citizens.
- Twenty years in or associated with profession, with District II association for 10 years, 100-year projects/event influential sphere
- Significant contribution in any or all of the following categories: 1) Specific projects and/or programs that the candidate is personally responsible for accomplishing, 2) Leadership positions held, 3) Service to public groups
